Security Options for Skype
- Skype has several security options to limit access to your
Skype id incase you are concerned about unsolicited calls.
- Start up Skype
- Click on File menu
- Click on Options
- Click on Privacy
- From this page you can block anyone from calling you if
they become a problem
- You can choose to only allow authorized user ids to call.
Note this will prevent anyone from calling you unless you add
their id to your contact list first so I prefer option 1 as it has
not been a problem yet.
- Another effective way to control Skype access is to click
on Skype file menu and select status to set it to "away" if you
don't want to accept calls for a period while you are online.

Answering Service for Skype

Answering Service for Skype

automatically connects to the Skype software
- Once its installed you can double click on the SAM icon to
view and listen to any pending messages
- You can also change options such as:
- Number of seconds to wait before auto answering and
prompting for voice message
- Selection of voice and text greeting
- Sound options to signal events such as beep every time a
contact comes online (uncheck if you don't want to be notified)
